The Fashion – Product Design – Assistant supports the creative and technical processes involved in designing, developing, and producing fashion products. This entry-level position provides valuable exposure to the full product lifecycle—from concept and design to sampling and production coordination—within a fast-paced and dynamic fashion environment.
The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about fashion design. The assistant will work closely with designers, merchandisers, and production teams to ensure that all products meet design standards, timelines, and brand identity.
Role Responsibilities- Assist in developing design concepts, sketches, and technical drawings.
- Support the creation of mood boards, color palettes, and material selections.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to source fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Help manage samples, product specifications, and production schedules.
- Coordinate fittings, take notes on revisions, and ensure timely updates to design documentation.
- Assist in preparing presentation materials for design reviews and buyer meetings.
- Track product development stages and maintain design archives.
- Research fashion trends, materials, and competitors to support seasonal collections.
- Ensure design consistency with brand standards and target market requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to align design with market needs.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship experience acceptable).
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CLO 3D.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and product development processes.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Creative flair with attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Interest in market trends, sustainability, and innovation in fashion design.
- Knowledge of pattern making and technical specification sheets is an advantage.
