The Security Manager is responsible for implementing physical security measures and compliance programs for the Qatar region. The Security Manager will interact with key stakeholders across the region to ensure adherence to internal processes and policies for physical security. This position will maintain and provide leadership with reporting on security operations, regional risk, and projects. In addition, the Security Manager will collaborate with leadership on remediation and negotiation of risk management plans.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Implement and maintain physical security measures and compliance programs across Qatar data center operations.
- Conduct in-person risk assessments, develop protocols, SOPs, and plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of internal policies.
- Coordinate with business partners, security designers and vendors to ensure an effective response to security and other disruptive events.
- Help evaluate and identify root cause and plan mitigation activities as needed.
- Organize and assign work activities and projects, manage programs, monitor workflow, and review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
- Establish audit and inspection protocols to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps.
- Identify and utilize proper communication channels to ensure timely updates to various levels of the organization.
- Collect information about the incident and work closely with the team to capture appropriate data to complete root-cause analysis and provide recommendations to improve existing processes.
- Deliver management reporting and KPIs to understand trends, financial impacts, training, and documentation needs.
- Collaborate with leadership and teams to develop and execute risk mitigation and remediation plans
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced or professional certifications (or willingness to obtain those) such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable..
- Proven experience in physical security operations, risk management, compliance, and incident response., preferably within data centers, critical infrastructure, or large facilities.
- Experience in leading large (security) teams, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and implementing security policies and SOPs.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, Uptime Institute) and local compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to make operational and strategic decisions under pressure and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership
