Role Overview
- Title: Lead QA Engineer (Mobile)
- Level: Lead
- Team: 7 Quality Assurance Engineers (Mobile-focused)
- Reports To: Head of QA Competence Center, Delivery Manager
- Purpose: Ensure release quality of Paysera’s mobile applications by executing hands-on testing, creating and maintaining test documentation, mentoring newcomers, and enhancing QA processes. The Lead QA Engineer will balance technical execution with leadership, and leverage AI tools to optimize daily QA workflows.
- [R1] Plan and document the testing process for the mobile functionality using Jira and TestRail.
- [R2] Execute manual testing of mobile apps on iOS and Android devices to validate functionality and compatibility.
- [R3] Perform performance and security testing of mobile apps using Firebase and relevant profiling tools.
- [R4] Create, update, and maintain test cases, checklists, and bug reports in line with release cycles.
- [R5] Onboard and train new testers through structured sessions, peer reviews, and documentation.
- [R6] Drive continuous improvement of QA workflows, aligning testing processes with company-wide standards.
- [R7] Apply AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate test case generation, bug reporting, and documentation tasks.
- [R8] Collaborate with developers and product owners to ensure defects are reproduced, tracked, and resolved prior to release.
- [Q1] 5+ years of professional experience as a Manual QA Engineer on mobile application projects (iOS and Android).
- [Q2] Minimum 2.5 years of team leadership experience, mentoring or managing at least 3+ testers.
- [Q3] Hands-on experience testing mobile applications in the fintech or financial services domain, with focus on compliance, security, and reliability standards.
- [Q4] Proven ability to design and maintain structured test cases, checklists, and bug reports (evidence via portfolio or TestRail/Jira exports).
- [Q5] Strong proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, TestRail).
- [Q6] Experience executing performance and compatibility testing with Firebase or similar tools.
- [Q7] Demonstrated ability to train and support QA colleagues, validated through past mentoring/coaching roles.
- [Q8] Professional working proficiency in English (B2+), verified through interviews and documentation.
- [Q9] Hands-on experience applying AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) in QA workflows for documentation, bug reporting, or test case creation.
- [N1] Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework, Python).
- [N2] Ability to write test scripts or configure automation environments.
- [N3] Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for integrating automated tests.
- [N4] Knowledge of advanced mobile security or performance testing methodologies.
- [W1] Employment Type: B2B contract, 3-month probation.
- [W2] Location: Remote or Hybrid; candidates within ±3 hours CET.
