Introduction
The organisation is building a dedicated in-house digital experience capability to deliver high-quality web and portal solutions for students and staff. This is a hands-on UX Designer role with full autonomy to shape user experiences across multiple platforms. You’ll join a small, collaborative team that is transitioning away from outsourced design work to bring expertise in-house.
The team is led by a Head of Digital Product & Design who is passionate about creating a strong design culture.

The organisation is investing heavily in digital transformation, focusing on student LMS systems and web portals. This role is critical to delivering a seamless, user-centric experience and will influence future design standards and processes. You’ll work closely with leadership and stakeholders, with the freedom to innovate and make decisions that shape the digital experience strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver wireframes, prototypes, user journeys, and high-fidelity UI for web and LMS platforms.
- Conduct user testing and apply insights to improve usability and engagement.
- Collaborate with developers, content authors, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive designs.
- Support process mapping and contribute to the development of design systems.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio of web and portal projects.
- Expertise in wireframing, prototyping, user testing, journey mapping, and delivering high-fidelity designs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to work in a small, fast-paced team.
- Creative, adaptable, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Technical Environment
- Squiz CMS, Azure web apps, Blackboard LMS, PeopleSoft integration, Funnelback search, Google Analytics.
- Familiarity with design systems and MS Dynamics 365 integrations (Copilot experience is a bonus).
