Project Description

Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing sector, is launching a strategic investment initiative to upgrade their production capabilities. This involves configuring, laying out, and implementing highly customized electromechanical manufacturing machinery, tailored to specific production needs and not off-the-shelf solutions. The project manager’s goal is to connect all technical components and stakeholders to ensure a smooth and timely rollout of the project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the investment project, from planning and layout to implementation of new machinery.
• Translate business objectives into actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical and technical engineers to ensure alignment across all project phases.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning activities, ensuring machines are delivered and integrated effectively.
• Monitor timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure smooth execution.
• Identify and manage project risks, resolving issues proactively.
• Act as the communication bridge between technical teams and senior stakeholders, providing regular updates and clear reporting.

Requirements

Experience & Background:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong track record leading similar investment or machinery implementation projects.
• Experience coordinating technical profiles, especially in electromechanical setups.
• Pragmatic and hands-on approach; able to step in where needed without taking over execution.
• Engineering or technical background preferred, but this is not a hands-on technical role.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Solid understanding of manufacturing workflows and machinery integration.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to “connect the dots” across different departments and disciplines.
• English fluency is required; Dutch is a plus but not mandatory.

Contract Type: Freelance

Location: Turnhout

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 6 Months

Onsite Policy: 4 Days Per Week

Languages: English (Dutch is a bonus)
