Purpose of the Role


This role is focused on supporting the engineering team in delivering high-quality Mechanical engineering designs and solutions for both internal stakeholders and external clients. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the delivery of a major new data centre project in Finland.


Key Responsibilities


  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration:
  • Work cooperatively across engineering disciplines, contributing to and at times leading multi-disciplinary project teams in accordance with company procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and specialist suppliers, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and documentation.
  • Resource and Cost Management:
  • Ensure efficient use of company resources and sub-contract packages in line with project cost plans. Prepare cost estimates for electrical service implementation.
  • Site Surveying & Design Development:
  • Conduct site surveys to assess client needs, recommend solutions, and produce compliant, cost-effective electrical service designs that meet project timelines and user requirements.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Contribute to the preparation of health and safety method statements and risk assessments in line with current construction legislation.
  • Tendering Support:
  • Produce tender enquiry documentation for electrical service contracts. Assist quantity surveyors with tender evaluations.
  • Project Oversight & Quality Assurance:
  • Monitor and provide feedback on subcontractors’ work. Attend regular engineering meetings, remain up-to-date with legal and policy changes, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Client-Cantered Service:
  • Deliver a high standard of professional engineering services aligned with the company’s quality assurance framework.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the data centre or mission-critical infrastructure environment
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills
  • Familiarity with European construction standards and safety legislation is a plus
