We are looking for an experienced Project Logistics and Forwarding Manager to join our Projects Logistics Operations organization in Global Supply team within the Packing, Paper, and Tissue Business Area.
Location: Karlstad (Sweden) or Jyväskylä (Finland).
Business Area: Global Supply Chain – Packing and Paper, Tissue.
Your Mission
You’ll lead a global team of logistics professionals that are located in Sweden, Finland and Italy. You will support the team to manage complex transport flows, and ensure seamless coordination between internal departments, suppliers, and customers. You’ll be part of a global team that thrives on collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee inbound/outbound flows to Valmet production facilities, direct deliveries from suppliers, and customs operations.
- Lead the team towards reaching targets and fulfilling customer expectations
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and customs processes.
- Monitor performance metrics, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
- Support supplier network development and global logistics strategy.
You’re a natural leader with a strategic mindset and a passion for logistics. You thrive in complexity, communicate with clarity, and inspire your team to deliver excellence.
Skills & Experience
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Logistics, with leadership roles in global industries.
- Proven success in managing international logistics, oversized cargo, warehousing, and customs.
- Experience with supplier/customer contracts and letters of credit.
- Highly results-oriented with continuous improvement attitude
- Skilled in performance management and fostering a psychologically safe environment.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
