(Senior) BI Analyst

Job role and purpose:

A (Senior) Business Intelligence Analyst’s core responsibility is to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. The role plays a crucial role in designing, implementing and maintaining 3stepIT´s BI environment. The role is responsible for developing data models, supporting business in defining KPI’s, developing reports and dashboards, collaborating with stakeholders, training end users, and translating data insights into recommendations. The role works seamlessly with data engineers and assisting in data warehousing development and ensuring ETL specifications.

In this role, you can also lead and develop machine learning projects as needed. This role involves a deep understating of both the technical and business aspects of data, ensuring that data strategies align with organizational goals.

Main responsibilities & tasks:

• Design and develop BI environment: create reports and dashboards that support business operations and management
• Support business stakeholders with KPI definition and identify business needs
• Data Modeling: Develop data models in BI tools that describe the business and correspond to the data warehouse structures
• Ensure data quality and define data quality monitoring
• Train and support key users, business analysts and managers in various functions
• Foster data-driven thinking by enhancing company-wide data literacy and awareness
• Transform data into actionable insights that guide strategic business decisions
• Design, develop and lead advanced analytics projects, data mining and machine learning solutions
• Support management and business analysts providing advanced ad hoc requests
• Collaboration and leadership: work closely with data engineers, data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders and lead work and projects when needed
• Innovation and research: stay abreast of the latest developments in data architecture, data processing, data mining and data visualization technologies as well as machine learning tools

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, information technology or statistics
• 5+ years of proven experience in Business Intelligence Developer, BI Analyst or a similar role
• Full working proficiency in English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions
• Excellent communication skills including verbal and written skills for interacting with stakeholders, presenting findings and training end users across different organizational functions
• Strong understanding of business principles, processes and systems
• Strong knowledge and experience of BI tools (Power BI, Qlik Sense etc.)
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills and knowledge of different data platform technologies (e.g., Snowflake, DBT, Databricks or similar)
• Proficiency in programming languages used in data contexts (e.g. Python) and experience in Machine Learning tools is considered as an advantage.
