Engineering Manager Backend (Golang)

Come and join Company.info and bring our APIs and developers to the next level! We are looking for an Engineering Manager to mentor, guide, and inspire our backend Golang team. In this key role, you will drive the development of our new API platform and contribute directly to our SaaS ambitions. You’ll be shaping the technical vision, fostering innovation, and aligning strategy with execution across multiple teams.

This is what you will do

As Engineering Manager Backend, you will take the lead in managing and mentoring ten talented Golang developers across three agile teams. You will set the direction for backend development, enforce best practices, and ensure technological excellence while being hands-on involved in building and optimizing our API infrastructure.

• Manage all 10 engineers in the Golang chapter, ranging from junior to lead level – run the performance management cycle, hiring, organize chapter processes, etc.
• Align team capacity and staffing, and encourage knowledge sharing
• Drive the technical vision and enforce engineering best practices
• Finalize and scale our new API Hub, while phasing out legacy APIs
• Collaborate closely with product management and fellow engineering leads to align strategy and execution

You already have this knowledge and experience

You’re a natural leader with strong technical skills and a passion for coaching others. You bring structure in backend development, especially around APIs, and know how to drive both people and projects forward. Your communication skills and problem-solving mindset round out your toolkit.

• 2+ years of leadership experience within software engineering teams
• Strong background in backend or API development (preferably in Golang)
• Proven experience with API architecture and cloud environments (preferably AWS)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• Fluent in English, with strong communication and collaboration skills

• Golang, Kubernetes, JSONAPI, AWS, Workflow tools (Temporal, Argo)
• Relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Monitoring and alerting (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, …)
• SOAP/PHP (legacy applications)
