Hi! 👋 I'm Emily, Lead Product Designer at WeTravel 🇳🇱

I joined WeTravel here in Amsterdam in 2023 as a Senior Product Designer and stepped into the Lead role at the start of 2024. I’ve always loved two things—traveling and designing great experiences—so combining both here is a dream. We’re building tools that help travel organizers manage bookings, payments, and communication all in one place—and as a design team, we focus on making those experiences seamless, intuitive, and genuinely enjoyable to use.

Right now, we're at an exciting inflection point. Our design team is growing, and we have an ambitious roadmap ahead of us, where we're building game-changing features, including a full CRM system, supplier management tools, and AI functionality… and much more that will transform how travel organizers run their businesses.

I'm looking for a Senior Product Designer who's ready to own meaningful projects from day one—someone who loves collaborating, isn't afraid of ambiguity, and gets energized by the challenge of designing features that make a real difference to our users. If you want to be part of a team that's shaping the future of travel tech while working in a supportive, creative environment, I'd love to hear from you.

How We Work

At WeTravel, our Product team operates in a design studio model where designers own the entire experience across all user personas. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll lead design projects from ideation through to launch, working closely with Product Managers and Engineering to shape features that directly impact group and multi-day travel organizers.

You'll be responsible for the full design process—from user research and journey mapping to prototyping, testing, and delivery of pixel-perfect designs. We value designers who champion user needs while balancing business goals and technical feasibility.

Our team thrives on collaboration. You'll participate in daily design critiques, stand-ups, and story creation sessions. We move fast, iterate based on data and user feedback, and celebrate both big wins and small improvements. Your work will be visible across the entire company, and you'll have the autonomy to make meaningful decisions that shape our platform's future.

We're looking for someone who can tackle ambiguous challenges, simplify complex problems, and maintain a positive, action-oriented approach even when juggling multiple projects.

Why You Should or Shouldn't Apply

You Should Apply If You

  • Have 6+ years of experience designing digital products

  • Are a Figma wizard and know your way around responsive design and design systems
  • Are research savvy: you’ve done your share of user research and can turn insights into design gold
  • Are a team player at heart, collaborating easily with designers, engineers, and PMs—and you’re great at explaining your design decisions
  • Have a growth mindset—you love feedback and thrive in a fast-paced, juggling-multiple-projects world
  • Are fluent in English and communicate effectively with non-native speakers
  • Have a bias for action, a knack for simplifying things, and a positive attitude

You Might Not Be The Right Fit If You

  • Prefer working in isolation rather than collaborating closely with product managers and engineers
  • Need highly structured processes and detailed briefs to do your best work
  • Aren't comfortable with ambiguity or rapid iteration based on user feedback
  • Struggle to balance ideal design vision with practical constraints and timelines
  • Don't enjoy presenting and defending your design decisions to stakeholders

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Understanding of software engineering workflows and technical constraints
  • Experience in vertical SaaS, fintech, or travel industries

About WeTravel

Think of the most incredible adventures imaginable: trekking to Machu Picchu, cycling through Tuscany, or going on a safari in Kenya. For years, the small businesses and local experts who run these trips have been stuck using messy spreadsheets, countless emails, and complicated payment methods.

WeTravel is changing that. We build the tools that empower any entrepreneur to launch and grow their own travel business. Our platform makes it simple for organizers to create beautiful trip proposals, securely process payments, and manage their customers, so they can focus on what they do best: creating amazing experiences.

This is one of the last great frontiers of travel to come online, and as the category leader, we are at the forefront of this change. Last year alone, our platform was trusted by 8,000 organizers to lead over a million travelers on adventures in 150+ countries. Now, we're on an exciting journey to grow from powering $1B to $10B in travel experiences per year.

We believe that every trip, when done right, can be a force for good—and we're building the engine to make more of that possible.
