The role
As interim Junior xR Developer, you will be an integral part of a creative and skilled team developing immersive Virtual Reality (VR) training solutions for the naval sector. Using your Unity and programming expertise, you will contribute to creating realistic simulations and interactive training experiences that enhance the capabilities of naval professionals. As Junior xR Developer you will be working in an Agile Scrum environment and collaborate with developers, artists, and solution architects to design, build, and refine innovative VR solutions. Key Accountabilities
In this interim role, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with developers, subject matter experts, solution architects, and xR artists to create immersive environments and serious games for training and virtual naval capabilities.
- Translating functional requirements into well-tested, maintainable, and extendable code, both in game engine environments and for in-house tools.
- Delivering high-quality code increments within agreed schedules, quality standards, and cost parameters.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.
- Contributing to process improvements and fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in software development, preferably game development, with demonstrable experience.
- Proficiency in C# programming, Unity Engine, and xR development, with a focus on VR applications.
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
- Experience with Python, the Blender API, and relational databases is a plus.
- Strong command of English both written and verbal and proficiency in Dutch and/or German is a bonus.
- Competencies: customer, quality- and results-oriented, creative, flexible, self-organized with strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.

This temporary assignment is exclusively offered on a secondment (detachering) or temporary employment contract basis. Freelance or ZZP agreements are not considered due to current Dutch legislation.
