Job Description:

We are seeking a Data Scientist specializing in Life Sciences with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join our xTech team. In this role, you’ll apply advanced data analytics, AI (including Machine Learning and GenAI), to design and deliver impactful solutions for clients in pharma, biotech, medtech, and healthcare.

You will be responsible for implementing data-driven solutions, from model development to deployment, ensuring the effective translation of analytical insights into business outcomes. Working closely with senior colleagues, you’ll support project delivery, contribute to technical design, and ensure high-quality execution across all project phases.

As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you’ll also support senior leaders in business development activities – such as pre-sales analysis, research, and the creation of new service offerings – while contributing to a culture of continuous learning through internal knowledge sharing and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute data science projects within the life sciences domain
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to design and deliver impactful, technology-driven solutions.
• Develop and implement advanced analytical and AI applications for healthcare, biomedical, and clinical data analysis.
• Ensure project quality and adherence to best practices, maintaining high standards in methodology, documentation, and delivery.
• Stay current with advancements in data science, AI, and life sciences to apply innovative techniques and tools.
• Support business development activities under senior guidance; contributing to pre-sales efforts, proofs of concept, research, and new service development.
• Engage in professional visibility initiatives, such as contributing to publications, attending industry events, and promoting BIP’s data science capabilities.

Qualifications:

• PhD or[WG1] [GO2] Master’s degree in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related STEM disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in data science, with a focus on the life sciences industry
• Experience with healthcare data standards and terminologies
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and data mining techniques
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluent in professional English.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in presales or client-facing roles
• Experience with real-world evidence generation and observational research.
• Knowledge of NLP techniques and unstructured data analysis, including Generative AI.
• Publications or contributions to the data science community.
• Experience using Cloud services and APIs (GCP, Microsoft, AWS).
• Experience with AGILE methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience in project resource management (people, tools, time, costs).
• Understanding of the Veeva platform.
