KttiPay doesn’t just track expenses; it lets you pre-load money into virtual kttis, see who's chipped in, spend effortlessly, and split costs.

As a well-funded startup who has successfully launched its app, KttiPay has a solid runway that will easily sustain it until its Series A funding.

What we are looking for:

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Laravel / Symfony and TypeScript) based in Sydney, who has:

• 5+ years of hands-on development experience with frameworks: Laravel / Symphony
• 5+ years of hands-on development experience with JavaScript / TypeScript

Highly regarded:

• Experience with Modular Architecture
• Experience in Event Based Systems (we use EventBridge)
• Experience building RESTful APIs (OpenApi) in-collaboration with mobile engineers
• Experience in FinTech
• Experience with using Cursor AI

What you'd be doing in this role:

• Develop high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions using Laravel / Aurora MySQL / EventBridge on AWS
• Evolve our PHP Laravel API codebase into a modular architecture (to then be migrated to TypeScript long term)
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and mobile developers
• Write feature and unit tests

Key responsibilities:

• Building new features and products while enhancing the existing platform
• Bringing new ideas to help drive the development forward
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner
• Optimise and enhance the performance of existing software solutions and infrastructure
