Nectar primarily works with brands to scale their sales on third-party marketplaces like Amazon. However, Nectar also develops websites for its clients and manages their paid social and search along with their email marketing. In addition to marketing and services, Nectar has its own analytics platform, iDerive, which it uses to manage its clients’ businesses and sells as a stand-alone platform.

Role Overview

  • The Python Developer will play a key role in designing and maintaining scalable backend systems that support Nectar’s data analytics and e-commerce operations through iDerive, our proprietary platform. This role requires hands-on experience building robust, high-performance ETL processes, developing APIs, and deploying serverless applications within AWS. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about creating clean, efficient code that empowers data-driven decisions for clients across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and data processing pipelines that drive iDerive’s analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data, Product, and Engineering to understand business objectives and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Build and enhance Django-based admin interfaces to improve data management and internal workflows.
  • Develop and deploy Python applications within AWS Lambda and other cloud services to ensure optimized serverless performance.
  • Design, implement, and optimize relational database schemas to ensure data integrity, consistency, and scalability.
  • Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices and supports maintainability.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to improving development standards, and mentor junior developers as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements in architecture, automation, and deployment practices.
  • Support deployment and maintenance processes to ensure reliability, uptime, and continuous integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Python Developer, with a strong focus on backend systems and data processing.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining complex microservices and backend architectures that handle large-scale data workflows.
  • Proficiency in Django for developing scalable backend applications and admin interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience working in Linux environments , ability to configure, troubleshoot, and deploy services using Linux-based systems
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and reusable design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design principles.
  • Familiarity with AWS ecosystem tools (EC2, RDS, Elasticache, IAM, and VPC Networking).
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as React is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
