Network Engineer – FTTH

A Network Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and mapping the infrastructure for FTTH networks.

He or she ensures that FTTH networks are efficiently and effectively deployed to provide high-speed internet and communication services to residential areas.

What You’ll Do

As a Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for planning, designing, and mapping FTTH networks, ensuring seamless deployment and optimized performance.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Collaborating with project managers and engineers to define project scope and requirements

• Analyzing customer needs and assessing deployment feasibility

• Reviewing site survey data to identify challenges and opportunities

• Creating detailed design plans for fiber routes, equipment placement, and configurations

• Selecting the most efficient and cost-effective routing options

• Choosing appropriate FTTH equipment (ONTs, splitters, distribution frames, etc.)

• Ensuring all equipment meets technical standards and integrates seamlessly

• Maintaining detailed documentation, including layouts, diagrams, and specifications

• Estimating budgets, material, and labor costs

• Staying up to date with the latest FTTH technologies and design best practices

You’ll Work On

As part of our experienced engineering team, you’ll contribute to:

• HLD and LLD

• Preparing detailed build plans (e.g. splice cards, fiber allocation, and database management)

• Creating simulations and designs using specialized software tools

• Following up on FTTx design activities for one or more deployments

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or related field)

• Experience in FTTx network planning and design

• Knowledge of GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)

• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Genuine interest in fiber telecoms and network engineering

• Fluent in English (spoken & written)

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Flexible and positive

• Strong analytical thinking

Favored Qualifications

• Dutch or French proficiency

• Experience with AutoCAD

• Familiarity with COMSOF or similar fiber design tools
