Summary of Position:
Docupace Europe, located in Riga, Lativa is looking for an Automation Developer to develop automation tests on our new and legacy software. You will play a vital role in our ability to deliver quality, high-functioning software and applications to our clients. As an automation developer, you will design and write test automation scripts, use test automation frameworks, investigate problems identified as a result of testing, and work with QA Analysis and engineers to find solutions to enhance end-user experience.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive automation test strategies across UI, API, and backend layers.
- Own and drive end-to-end quality for major product features and system components.
- Evaluate and introduce new testing tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve test coverage and maintainability.
- Develop and execute complex test plans and cases.
- Identify root causes of issues and recommend preventive strategies across systems. Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and product managers to ensure high product quality.
- Participate in code reviews, test case reviews, and cross-functional QA initiatives.
- Support performance and load testing, especially for backend-heavy systems.
- Contribute to AI-based testing strategy and tool evaluation.
Minimum Education, Skills, and Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in QA Automation roles, including planning, implementation, and execution of automated test frameworks
- A bachelor’s degree with a technical major, such as engineering, computer science, or comparable work experience, is preferred
- Strong experience with test automation tools like Cypress and Playwright.
- Proven skills in backend, frontend, and performance testing; familiarity with k6 or similar tools.
- Programming proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (or optionally Python/Java if applicable).
- In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Advanced understanding of SDLC and QA’s role in Agile or Scrum.
- Demonstrated success in leading quality strategy discussions, QA roadmap planning, and cross-team initiatives.
- Experience working in geographically distributed teams.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality software.

- Supertest or Axios + Mocha/Chai or Pytest for backend test automation.
- Postman.
- Git-based version control.
- Jira.
- Test reporting tools.

- k6 or other performance testing tools.
- Docker basics for test environment simulation.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their QA relevance.
- WireMock, MockServer, or MSW.
- AI/ML testing utilities or platforms
- ISTQB Certification (Advanced or Foundation Level)
