Summary of Position:

Docupace Europe, located in Riga, Lativa is looking for an Automation Developer to develop automation tests on our new and legacy software. You will play a vital role in our ability to deliver quality, high-functioning software and applications to our clients. As an automation developer, you will design and write test automation scripts, use test automation frameworks, investigate problems identified as a result of testing, and work with QA Analysis and engineers to find solutions to enhance end-user experience.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive automation test strategies across UI, API, and backend layers.
  • Own and drive end-to-end quality for major product features and system components.
  • Evaluate and introduce new testing tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve test coverage and maintainability.
  • Develop and execute complex test plans and cases.
  • Identify root causes of issues and recommend preventive strategies across systems. Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and product managers to ensure high product quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, test case reviews, and cross-functional QA initiatives.
  • Support performance and load testing, especially for backend-heavy systems.
  • Contribute to AI-based testing strategy and tool evaluation.


Minimum Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in QA Automation roles, including planning, implementation, and execution of automated test frameworks
  • A bachelor’s degree with a technical major, such as engineering, computer science, or comparable work experience, is preferred
  • Strong experience with test automation tools like Cypress and Playwright.
  • Proven skills in backend, frontend, and performance testing; familiarity with k6 or similar tools.
  • Programming proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (or optionally Python/Java if applicable).
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Advanced understanding of SDLC and QA’s role in Agile or Scrum.
  • Demonstrated success in leading quality strategy discussions, QA roadmap planning, and cross-team initiatives.
  • Experience working in geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality software.

  • Supertest or Axios + Mocha/Chai or Pytest for backend test automation.
  • Postman.
  • Git-based version control.
  • Jira.
  • Test reporting tools.


Nice to have

  • k6 or other performance testing tools.
  • Docker basics for test environment simulation.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their QA relevance.
  • WireMock, MockServer, or MSW.
  • AI/ML testing utilities or platforms
  • ISTQB Certification (Advanced or Foundation Level)
