We are a rapidly growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Senior Network & Security Engineer to join our technical delivery team. This role is the cornerstone of our clients' infrastructure, requiring deep, multi-vendor expertise in enterprise networking, firewall management, and robust VPN solutions.

You will be responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of network infrastructure for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring maximum security, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Firewall & Security Management: Design, configure, and manage high-availability firewalls, primarily focusing on Fortinet (FortiGate), Cisco ASA/FTD, and/or Palo Alto Networks.
  • Networking Infrastructure: Administer and troubleshoot complex enterprise switching and routing environments, including VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and QoS, with a strong emphasis on Cisco and/or Meraki solutions.
  • VPN & Remote Access: Implement and maintain various VPN solutions (IPSec, SSL-VPN, Client-to-Site) to ensure secure remote connectivity for client workforces.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds) to proactively identify performance bottlenecks and security threats, providing root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures.
  • Documentation & Standards: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all client environments.
  • Project Delivery: Lead and execute network implementation and migration projects from discovery and planning through to successful cutover.
  • Escalation Support: Act as a final-tier escalation point for complex network and security incidents, driving rapid resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience managing complex, multi-site network environments, preferably within an MSP or high-volume consulting environment.
  • Firewall Expertise (Mandatory): Deep proficiency in configuring and managing at least two major firewall platforms (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco FTD/ASA, Palo Alto). Certifications are highly desirable.
  • Networking Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3 protocols, and strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching.
  • Security Principles: Solid understanding of network segmentation, IDS/IPS technologies, content filtering, and security best practices.
  • Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network performance issues using packet analysis tools (Wireshark).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and technical documentation.

Desirable (Bonus) Skills

  • Experience with cloud networking concepts (Azure Networking, AWS VPC).
  • Experience administering virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
