About The Job
As Engineering Manager at DNA.inc, we will look to you to build and develop a great team of experts, enabling them to perform to the best of their abilities on projects with our clients. You will have a group of direct reports which you support in all matters of people and business. While in some cases we pick up projects end-to-end, more frequently we contribute to products while embedded in our clients’ teams, to partner on core, strategic and high-stakes initiatives. Staff augmentation is our most common mode of engagement.
Among other things, you can expect to work on:
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of software engineers through regular 1:1s, development plans, and skills coaching.
- Responsible for the full employment cycle from hiring to off-boarding, including contracts, negotiation, promotions,performance management and compensation.
- Foster a strong engineering culture and thought leadership within DNA.
- Oversee team resourcing, project staffing and capacity planning for various clients.
- Represent DNA in the engineering community, building our reputation as an employer of choice.
- Build the team and a pipeline of highly skilled engineers for expected future growth.
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of your teams, including time tracking for client work, monitoring project utilization, expenses, holidays etc.
- Execute and deliver on the Engineering Team OKRs.
- Actively contribute to shaping engineering management processes.
- Manage and steer the internal impact engineers create outside of the client projects.
- Ensure smooth delivery of client projects, with a focus on quality, timelines, and client satisfaction.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth with existing as well as new clients, in cooperation with the commercial team.
Requirements
To be considered a candidate for this position, we expect you to:
- Have been building, leading and supporting teams of software engineers in various technical disciplines for at least 3 years
- Have at least 8 years of professional experience, ideally as a software engineer.
- Bring solid experience in mobile technology (e.g. iOS, Android, cross-platform frameworks) and an understanding of mobile product development
- Possess excellent people skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships with both colleagues and clients.
- Navigate, prioritize and manage a multitude of topics and structure them for yourself and your team.
- Have a mind for business, as you’ll be a crucial part of the commercial success of the company.
- Experience in navigating the complexities of large organisations.
- Experience supporting remote-first teams is definitely a plus.
