Responsibilities

  • Design, document, and communicate gameplay systems that align with player motivations and F2P best practices in VR.
  • Collaborate with art, programming, and production teams to bring new gameplay features and content to life.
  • Analyze player feedback and data to refine engagement, retention, and monetization strategies.
  • Engage with the community in Discord and in game to get raw feedback and improvements ideas live directly from the players
  • Stay at the forefront of VR trends, particularly in social, multiplayer, and free-to-play design.
  • Help the team maintain a cohesive vision and high creative standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in game design, with at least 1 year in VR or social multiplayer games.
  • Proven track record designing for free-to-play or live service titles.
  • Deep familiarity with VR platforms (Meta Quest, PCVR, PSVR) and the current VR player ecosystem.
  • Understanding of player psychology, retention loops, and social gameplay systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — comfortable working across disciplines in a remote team environment.
  • Passion for playing and analyzing social VR games such as Gorilla Tag, Yeeps, Horizon Worlds, or Animal Company.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Unity and prototyping tools.
  • Familiarity with analytics, A/B testing, or live-ops feature design.
  • Background in community-driven or user-generated content systems.

Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000–$90,000/year (depending on experience).
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation + studio closure (December 25 to January 1).
  • 100% remote work and flexible schedule (shared office space available in Mile-End).
  • Health insurance (after 3 months).
  • Stock options.
  • Flat structure with no internal politics — transparency, creativity, and direct impact.
  • Creative freedom and autonomy.
