Job Summary:
The Project Manager - Leader plays a pivotal role in supporting the transformation of the PRESTO electronic payment system, a major transit modernization initiative across Ontario. This position oversees multiple concurrent projects, ensuring successful execution of deliverables while maintaining alignment with technical, operational, and organizational objectives. The Project Manager will coordinate activities, manage schedules, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned tasks contributing to the delivery of PRESTO Security and Transformation Projects.
  • Support Senior and Project Managers throughout definition, procurement, and implementation phases, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain and organize project documentation, ensuring traceability throughout all project stages.
  • Communicate project plans, actions, risks, and issues to key stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and problem resolution to ensure timely progress.
  • Assist Project Managers with administrative functions, process documentation, and reporting.
  • Manage day-to-day operations for the Project Management team and support workflow optimization.
  • Analyze project data and prepare progress and performance reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with multiple internal and external teams.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience managing large, complex technology or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication skills to convey ideas, manage stakeholder expectations, and align team objectives.
  • Proven organizational and planning abilities for managing interdependent projects within tight schedules and budgets.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, including conflict resolution and fostering collaboration.
Required Experience:
  • 2-3 years in project coordination or project management support roles.
  • Experience with project management tools (Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure and security-related projects.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Familiarity with large-scale public sector or transportation technology projects.
  • Exposure to enterprise procurement or system transformation initiatives.
