Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust network solutions to support business requirements and objectives.
- Lead the planning and execution of network infrastructure projects within scope and budget.
- Monitor network performance and optimize it to ensure high levels of availability and security.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex network issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technology into existing systems.
- Conduct regular network maintenance to ensure equipment is performing optimally and updated.
- Evaluate new network technologies and keep updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Manage network configuration and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware from intrusion and damage.
- Mentor and train junior network engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Provide expert level support and consultation for escalated technical issues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 technical support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in network engineering roles or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
- Experience with network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Proficient in using network management and monitoring tools for performance analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across various technical and non-technical teams.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent is highly preferred.
