Base salary: £30,000 – £45,000

Remote working: Hybrid (up to 2 remote days p/w)

We're seeking a Junior Developer with strong communication and problem-solving skills who can merge technical know-how with business insight. If you have a proactive attitude, can work collaboratively, and are driven to grow within a company, we want you on our team. 


About the Role 

Join our talented team of developers and data scientists to deliver data harvesting solutions across multiple sectors, including travel. Your typical responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing scheduled and ad hoc data harvesting for clients. 
  • Writing Regular Expressions to extract required data from raw HTML, JSON, XML. 
  • Cleaning up and validating harvested data in an automated fashion. 
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues. 
  • Maintaining existing data processing services. 
  • Enhancing automated data processing and delivery efficiencies. 

 

Requirements 

Core: 

  • Strong understanding of HTTP request and response architecture. 
  • Proficiency in writing Regular Expressions for extracting data from text, HTML, JSON, and XML. 
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and C#/Java. 
  • Strong communication skills to understand project requirements and interact with team members. 
  • Ability to diagnose and resolving technical issues. 


Advantageous: 

  • Experience in automated data harvesting using C#/Java/Python. 
  • Front-end development experience. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP – BigQuery). 
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Elasticsearch. 
  • Background in the travel sector. 
  • Knowledge of GitHub, JavaScript, React.

Interview Process

1.     Initial Teams interview with an AA team member to explore mutual interest in the role.

2.     Follow-up interview with senior AA team member to assess fit and technical skills.

3.     Final face-to-face interview at AA offices for an in-depth discussion with AA leadership.
