We are looking for a full-time Junior/mid level AI Backend Engineer to help build and maintain the backend for SWOP, our agentic AI broker. You will work closely with the founding team to implement task automation, multi-agent workflows, and backend infrastructure that powers AI-driven negotiation and asset matching, LLM training and more.
This role is remote initially, but we plan on relocating to the US (SF Bay Area/New York City) in the future.

- Build and maintain backend systems for SWOP, including automation of marketplace tasks and AI-driven workflows.
- Implement Python-based backend services, APIs, and integration with LLM agents.
- Work with headless browser and scrapping tools for web automation.
- Build system prompting for AI Agent.
- Help design, implement, and manage data schemas and pipelines for AI-driven decision making.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, AI researchers, and product teams to translate AI models into production-ready workflows.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of backend systems.
- Support Launch of SWOP
- Strong Python programming skills (5+years preferred, either work or non work experience).
- Experience with FastAPI / Flask or similar backend frameworks.
- Experience working with Pydantic for data validation and structured models.
- Understanding of LLMs / agentic AI workflows (even if experimental).
- Experience with Playwright, Selenium, or web automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
- Understanding of REST APIs / microservices and GraphQL APIs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup.
- Heavy product sense and strong individual autonomy
- Obsession over the product you are building
- Experience with AI orchestration / multi-agent systems.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with queueing systems / Celery / RabbitMQ / Kafka.
- Exposure to AI model deployment in production environments.
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Previous experience in start ups is a +.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid or fully remote setup with asynchronous communication.
- Debugging and profiling performance bottlenecks
- Code versioning: Git, branching, PR workflows
- Embeddings & amp; soft ML understanding

The salary position may not reflect our generosity but that is just because were ensuring maximum runway until we properly kick off. The position is full-time but has a 6 month probation.
