We are looking for a Dutch-speaking Data Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies to join one of my clients growing data team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimising data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver modern, scalable data solutions using Azure cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Develop clean, reusable, and efficient SQL and Python code
- Work with Azure Data services (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Fabric)
- Optimise data models for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements
- Ensure data quality, governance, and documentation best practices
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation for data workflows
- Troubleshoot and improve existing data processes
Required Skills & Experience
- Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written)
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data/IT, or related field
- 3+ years hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong SQL development and optimisation skills
- Proficiency in Python for data processing/ETL
- Experience with Azure cloud platform
- Solid understanding of Azure Databricks (or Spark-based platforms)
- Experience working in a data-driven, agile environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse or Data Lake
- Knowledge of data modelling (Kimball, Data Vault, Lakehouse, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, or Infrastructure as Code
- Experience in consultancy or enterprise-scale environments
- Understanding of stakeholder management
