Meaningful Mission: As a Clinical Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Scientist, you will be pivotal in leading the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge algorithms for medical image processing. Leveraging your expertise in machine learning and image analysis, you will enhance our solutions by extracting meaningful features from multimodal data sources, transforming raw inputs into actionable insights. You will drive the development of advanced prediction systems, integrating clinical expert knowledge with machine learning techniques, with a special emphasis on radiology and medical imaging applications for bone and musculoskeletal health.


CLINICAL AI DATA SCIENTIST

Location: Based in Geneva with Hybrid options available

Start Date: Ideally 1st Jan 2025

Contract: Full time at 100%


So lets look at the Challenge in more detail :

You will be responsible for achieving a broad range of objectives, including :

  • Design and develop advanced neural networks and AI-driven solutions for processing medical images from various imaging modalities, including X-ray and CT.
  • Lead research in state-of-the-art image processing techniques, including medical image texture and feature analysis, applying the latest methodologies in the field.
  • Explore and implement modular and hybrid machine learning approaches, incorporating multiscale, multifactor, and covariate modelling for robust and accurate predictions.
  • Develop and apply large language models (LLMs) to extract, interpret, and process clinical information, integrating unstructured data with structured medical insights.
  • Design and deploy solutions for on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring scalability and security for healthcare applications.
  • Create and maintain R&D tools for use in technical and clinical studies, enabling seamless development and validation of innovative AI solutions.
  • Program in RStudio/R and Python for statistical analysis and graphical computing, leveraging advanced analytics for data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of research activities, adhering to best practices in reproducibility and transparency for future reference and regulatory purposes.
  • Contribute to scientific publications, sharing findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at relevant conferences.
  • Commitment to quality and regulatory compliance in all aspects of your work


What do you need to succeed?

The candidate we seek is a forward thinking, innovative and highly collaborative researcher with the following range of skills:


Technical capabilities:

  • Master’s degree (MS) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. A Ph.D. in these areas is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience developing Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), and/or Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of ANN, CNN, Deep Learning (DL), and Machine Learning (ML) models, with a focus on real-world applications.
  • Proven expertise in image processing, ideally with experience in medical imaging modalities such as X-ray and CT.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, and/or C++ for AI and image processing applications.
  • Experience in developing and deploying solutions in cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), as well as on-premises implementations.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills, particularly in the medical or healthcare domain, with experience in using statistical tools and methodologies relevant to medical data.
  • Experience in developing R&D tools and custom solutions for research purposes, with proficiency in coding for technical and clinical studies.
  • Research experience or familiarity with bone health, dental health, or related biomedical fields is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of clinical workflows, medical imaging technologies, and quantitative imaging techniques.
  • Ability to document and present research findings effectively, contributing to scientific publications and conference presentations.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English is essential, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
