AI Researcher – Lisboa (Hybrid)

Through Shakers, we are looking for a freelance AI Researcher for a project with a fast-growing healthtech company that’s building an AI-powered platform to simplify clinical documentation through real-time, intelligent transcription and note generation. Their mission is to make healthcare workflows faster, smarter, and more human.

What You’ll Do

• Design and test new AI architectures and workflows (e.g. transcription → generation → feedback).
• Connect and optimize different LLM-based systems using LangChain / LangGraph / LangSmith.
• Implement integrations via Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar frameworks.
• Run structured experiments with clear evaluation metrics using Weights & Biases / MLflow.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to move prototypes into production.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with Python and multimodal or LLM-based systems.
• Strong ability to structure complex workflows and think system-wide.
• Knowledge of real-time systems.
• MSc or PhD in AI / Data Science / related field.
• (Nice to have) Published research in AI or ML journals.
