As a Cloud engineer, you will be working on the cloud infrastructure of the solutions related to the selling of insurance, solutions automating and optimizing the claims process, as well more marketing related apps such as a health and wellness loyalty mobile application.
Roles & Responsibilities
This job has a broad remit encompassing – but not limited to – the work areas below:
- Keep existing software solutions and/or infrastructure up-to-date and secure.
- Support the Solutions team during the development lifecycle with deployment, tooling and CI/CD
- Define and propose new solutions to innovate existing cloud infrastructure on topics such as performance, security and monitoring.
- Automating of maintenance and deployment tasks
- Taking the lead in troubleshooting infrastructure related incidents together with solutions team
- Maintain a good working relationship with the colleagues in our multi-national team and global stakeholders
- Keep organized on tools such as Confluence to ensure business continuity.
- Receive, process and document feedback from stakeholders and development teams to continuously improve our infrastructure.
Core competencies
The candidate for this job will be enthusiastic about the responsibilities above, and will have a skillset which complements the job well, including:
- Experience with Cloud providers such as Google Cloud, AWS, Azure
- Experience with containerisation (Docker) and Kubernetes
- Experience with automation of tasks through programming scripts
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Shell, etc
- Experience with tooling around CI/CD
- Strong analytical skills and know how to identify risks and opportunities.
- Experience with security and compliance related challenges
- Knowledge on working using Agile/Scrum-principles
- No problem to express yourself in professional and technical English in writing and speaking
Nice to have
- Experience with SQL
- Knowledge of network services, such as TCP, NAT, HTTP, OSI model, etc
- Experience with web technology
Required skills & experience
- MBO level 4 degree or HBO degree in Computer Science or similar quantitative field
- Minimal four (4) years of experience as a DevOps or Security Engineer
