Who we are 

 Microsoft Developer Center Norway (MDCN), with offices in Oslo, Trondheim and Tromsø, is part of the Experiences & Devices group within Microsoft. We work on integrating and building intelligent experiences in Microsoft Copilot and across Office 365 via cloud services such as Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Skype and Microsoft Teams. Our implementation ranks among the world’s largest and most cutting-edge distributed systems spanning hundreds of data centers around the world. Our products are used by most Fortune 500 enterprises, key government organizations, thousands of non-profits and 100s of millions of consumers across the world. 

To deliver on our mission to empower people and organizations to achieve more, we need to create scalable and reliable services and are seeking a skilled back-end developer. We can offer an agile development environment in Oslo with diverse skills in algorithms and data structures, big data, data science, machine learning and search technology to mention a few. The position is full-time and based in our Oslo office.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Solid technical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with leading distributed teams and projects.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale high performance software systems and understanding of software architecture and design.
  • Inclusive, collaborative and with a growth-mindset approach.
