We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Android Engineer to join a team with in a Retail environment . You’ll be part of a dynamic, multicultural environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to create seamless, high-quality Android experiences that delight our users. Your work will have a direct impact on how our customers interact with one of the region’s most iconic fashion retail brands.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Continuously modernize the Android app while delivering on the product roadmap.
• Ensure app performance and vitals consistently exceed customer expectations.
• Collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers.
• Contribute to defining the technical direction of the Android platform.
• Integrate third-party SDKs and APIs to enhance the user experience.
• Participate in requirements gathering, sprint planning, and problem-solving sessions.
• Refactor, migrate, and maintain legacy code to meet modern standards.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience building, maintaining, and releasing Android apps using Java and Kotlin.
• Deep proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio.
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture and patterns like MVVM or MVI.
• Hands-on experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and Reactive Programming.
• Solid understanding of threading, caching, and offline storage, with the ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Experience integrating Firebase and third-party libraries.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and version control (Git) in a collaborative environment.
• Experience implementing unit, integration, and UI tests for app reliability.
• Understanding of Material Design principles and best practices for intuitive UI/UX.
• Proven experience working effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Must already be based In Dubai

Bonus Points

• Experience migrating large legacy codebases to modern Android frameworks.
• Exposure to Gerrit for code reviews.
• Familiarity with Media3 video library.
• Previous experience developing e-commerce or retail applications.
