CoreWeave is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Site Manager to join our team in Norway. As a Site Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the operations and maintenance of our data centre infrastructure. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and may include participation in an on-call rotation.
Location: This is a 100% onsite position in Rjukan, Norway
Salary: 850,000 NOK - 1,000,000 NOK per year. Relocation allowance is available for national and international candidates.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of data centre technicians in daily operations, including server maintenance, equipment installation, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement best practices for data centre operations to ensure maximum efficiency and uptime.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support client projects and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Perform regular inspections and audits of data centre equipment to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
- Respond promptly and resolve technical issues and emergencies, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Liaise closely with the Data Centre Manager and keep informed of all operational activities, proactively identifying and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Provide the Data Centre Manager with a weekly synopsis covering successes, issues, and challenges.
- Collaborate with management to develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve data centre performance and scalability.
- Manage the Data Centre Technician shift rota and on-call pattern.
- Hold monthly one-on-ones with each Data Centre Technician.
- Ensure the Data Centre Technician's Tools and Equipment (including PPE) are in good working order.
- Review both installation and removal of equipment from the data centre to ensure that standards are upheld and maintained.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge of data centre operations.
- 5+ years of experience in data centre operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and cooling systems.
- Computer hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills experience
- Computer networking experience
- Experience with data centre management tools and software
- Ability to work in an environment that operates a shift pattern, with an ability to provide after-hours support as needed
- Candidates should be able to lift up to 22kg and/or work in elevated locations
Hands-on OR educational experience with any of the following areas:
- Linux operating system
- Python, Bash or other scripting languages experience
- Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
