Job Summary

We are seeking for a QA Engineer, both Manual and Automated testing Web channels (public website & self service portals) and Mobile apps (Native iOS/Android). Establish test strategy and processes, design and execute high quality manual test cases, build maintainable automation suites (UI, API, and mobile), and ensure releases meet our performance, security, accessibility, and UAE regulatory expectations in a utilities context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Strategy & Governance: Define test strategy covering manual + automation for Web and Mobile; maintain test plans and RTM.
  • Set quality gates in CI/CD; formalize Definition of Ready/Done and release exit criteria.
  • Champion shift left practices (static analysis, contract testing, mocks/stubs) and testability in design/PRs.
  • Test Design & Execution (Manual & Automation) Manual testing.
  • Derive test cases from PRDs, wireframes/figma, and user stories; review ACs; maintain living regressions.
  • Perform exploratory testing, edge case validation, negative tests, and UX checks.
  • Web: cross browser/responsive testing (Chromium, Firefox, Safari), Arabic/RTL, keyboard navigation basics.
  • Mobile (iOS/Android): device/OS coverage planning; install/uninstall, deep links, permissions, biometric auth, push notifications, offline/poor network, background/foreground, and app updates.
  • Support UAT preparation/execution; manage test data and environments; verify analytics/telemetry events where applicable.
  • Automation Web UI: Playwright or Cypress (component/E2E); resilient locator strategy; parallel, sharded runs.
  • Mobile: Appium (cross platform) and/or native automation frameworks XCUITest (iOS) and Espresso (Android) for smoke & regression packs; run on real devices/cloud farms.
  • API: Postman/Newman or REST Assured; contract testing with Pact; service virtualization (WireMock).
  • Engineer reliable pipelines (retry/flake control), rich reports (videos, traces), and actionable failure triage.
  • Integrations & Domain Scenarios: Validate end to end flows across SAP S/4HANA U, CRM (Microsoft/SAP/Salesforce, as applicable), UAE Pass, GIS, NI/N Genius payments, and omni channel notifications (SMS/Email/WhatsApp, mobile push).
  • Cover core utilities journeys: new connection, activation, billing, one click/tokenized payments, late payment options, outages, and KAM workflows.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Embed with product, engineering, CX, data, and vendor squads; coach on testability and standards.
  • Lead UAT planning, defect triage, go/no go; ensure Web/Mobile release readiness.
  • Publish weekly quality dashboards: pass rates, coverage (manual + automated), defect trends, flaky test index.

Role Requirements And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7–10 years in Software Quality Engineering with hands on manual and automation across Web and native Mobile.
  • 3+ years leading automation for UI and APIs.
  • Expert in writing clear manual test cases and executing complex end to end scenarios for React/Next.js Web and native iOS/Android apps.
  • Proven success building/maintaining Playwright/Cypress and Appium/XCUITest/Espresso frameworks at scale; API testing with Postman/Newman or REST Assured; mocking with WireMock; contract testing with Pact.
  • Strong understanding of mobile specific testing (real devices, OS/version matrix, biometrics, push, deep links, network shaping).
  • Experience with BrowserStack/Device Farm/Firebase Test Lab, App Center/Bitrise, and analytics event validation.
  • Store release experience: TestFlight, Play Console, pre launch reports & crash triage.
  • ISTQB Advanced/Certified Agile Tester, or equivalent.
  • Performance testing exposure (k6/JMeter) and basic security/OWASP practices.
  • Comfortable with CI quality gates, branching/versioning, artifact mgmt, and test data mgmt.
  • Excellent defect analytics, RCA, and stakeholder communication.
