About the Role

The role requires close coordination with internal departments (engineering, operations, procurement) and external stakeholders (consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities) to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to airport operations.

It’s a leadership role focused on delivering complex airport projects — such as terminal expansions, facility upgrades, or airside improvements — on time, within scope, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead projects across the full lifecycle: from initiation / feasibility to planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Plan, organize, and manage project resources (people, materials, contractors, consultants) to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates; monitor progress vs. baseline; identify and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (operations, safety, engineering, facilities management, procurement, etc.), external consultants, regulatory agencies and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation-specific standards and safety / regulatory requirements (e.g. ICAO, UAE Civil Aviation Authority, GCAA), local building codes, environmental, accessibility, sustainability standards.
  • Contract and vendor management: oversee procurement, tendering, contract preparation, contractor performance, claims, variation orders.
  • Risk management: identify risks early, assess their impact, develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Quality assurance: monitor quality of work and materials, conduct inspections, site visits, ensure design and construction meet specifications.
  • Reporting: prepare regular progress reports, financial reports, change requests, dashboards for senior leadership.
  • Stakeholder communication: maintain clear communication with all parties; manage expectations; resolve issues and conflicts.
  • Ensure operational readiness and coordination with airport operations (so that construction or project work minimize disruption to airport services).
