PHP Laravel Developer (medior / senior)

We are looking for a skilled PHP Laravel Developer to join our international development team of 12 PHP developers. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in PHP, experience with the Laravel framework, and a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable web applications. You will work on projects involving the migration of legacy code to Laravel, back-end development, API integration, and database management.

You will be involved in all parts of the product and process.

Your tasks will include:

• Develop and Maintain Web Applications

Build and maintain robust, efficient, and secure web applications using the Laravel framework

Write clean HTML and JavaScript code for frontend using native code and Vue

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams

Work closely with our quant developers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless user experiences

• Provide (technical) input during project planning and estimation

Code Refactoring

Contribute to our project to refactor the application code from our legacy CodeIgnitor framework to Laravel

• API Integration
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for seamless communication between services

Troubleshoot and optimize API performance

• Database Management

Design and optimize database schemas

Ensure efficient and secure interaction with MySQL

• Contribute to Quality Assurance

Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks

Write unit tests and feature tests using PHPunit

Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables

• Improve and extend your skills by learning and sharing with other developer
  

Education:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a technical field

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of PHP and the Laravel framework
• Up-to-date experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js is a plus
• Proficiency in MySQL
• Familiarity with tools like Composer, Git, and modern CI/CD pipelines. We use Docker Compose and Github actions

Professional Experience:

• At least 5 years of work experience in PHP development, of which a minimum 3+ years of experience as a Laravel Developer
• Proven track record of developing scalable web applications

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to work in an informal, fast-paced, team-oriented environment

More and more of our clients are active in the field of renewable energy. We also have corporate clients that use our software for their commodity risk management.

We are a Dutch company with an international team of 40 people, working on software development (PHP team and quantitative modelling team), QA, IT support, marketing and sales
