JOB PURPOSE: -

Provide specialized advice and professional recommendations on all aspects of aviation security, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and international standards, while supporting senior management in making strategic decisions related to security.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: -

• Provide advice to senior management on long-term security policies and strategies.

• Analyze international aviation security trends and recommend alignment with company practices.

• Contribute to shaping the company’s security vision and linking it to operational and business objectives.

• Advise on compliance requirements for Oman CAA and international authorities.

• Review results of security audits (internal and external) and provide practical recommendations

• Monitor changes in regulations and provide advisory reports on their impact on company operations.

• Advise on preparing and updating security risk assessments for stations and cargo.

• Analyze threat reports and recommend preventive measures.

• Propose advanced tools and practices for monitoring and managing security risks.

• Advice on developing aviation security training curricula.

• Recommend advanced training plans to enhance staff competence.

• Evaluate current training programs and recommend improvements.

• Provide advisory support in managing security crises and incidents.

• Analyze security incident reports and issue recommendations on lessons learned.

• Guide senior management on best practices for handling emergencies.

• Advise on strengthening cooperation with local and international security bodies.

• Guide management on dealing with requirements of foreign airports and authorities.

• Provide advisory input in representing the company in security meetings and forums.

• Prepare advisory analytical reports for management on overall security status.

• Provide data-driven recommendations to strengthen operational security.

• Participate in regular briefings with the Board or specialized committees.

• To ensure that Oman Air’s security policy and measures comply with the legal requirements contained in the National Civil Aviation Security Programmed of the Sultanate of Oman and other countries to which the airline operates.

• To ensure maintaining the Oman Air Operator’s Security Programmed, Ground Handling Security Programmed, Catering Security Programmed and Cargo Security Programmed.

• To advise the CEO and the Vice Presidents/Departmental Heads of their obligations under legislation and to inform them of the airline's compliance or otherwise with its provisions.

• Conduct continuous threat and risk assessments for Oman Air and ensure planned countermeasures

are commensurate with the threats and risks to Oman Air.

• To monitor the security performance of Oman Air staff and relevant contractors by conducting regular

audits and inspections.

• To report to the CEO and responsible Vice Presidents/Departmental Heads on the security performance of line management.

• To provide protection for aircraft, staff and passengers from known disruptive passengers.

• To negotiate specialist third party security contracts as necessary.

• To ensure relevant ground handling contracts properly specify security requirements.

• To develop, implement and maintain relevant AVSEC training programs as per the international norms to meet ICAO and DGSAS regulations.

• To advise on the security training required to Oman Air staff and relevant contractors.

• To liaise with domestic and international intelligence organizations.

• To ensure Oman Air’s security measures meet industry best practice by benchmarking the company’s security policies against those of other international airlines.

• Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: -

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar with 8 years’ experience in airline security.

- Or

- Secondary School certificate having 14 years’ experience in similar functions.


PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATION OR MEMBERSHIPs: -

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Excellent communication (Arabic & English) and presentation abilities.

• High emotional intelligence, and stakeholder management.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
