People Assistant
Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week in Birmingham (Tuesdays), 4 days remote
Salary: Up to £35,000 + travel expenses + development support
About the Company
A fast-growing hospitality group operating several successful casual dining and coffee-led brands across the UK. The business has recently signed a major national rollout deal, making this an exciting time to join a company with significant expansion plans and genuine long-term opportunities.
The Role
We are looking for a People Assistant to help build and support the group’s HR function during a period of rapid growth. This role would suit someone coming from an operations background – such as a Store or General Manager – who is passionate about people, structure, and process, and wants to take the first step into a career in HR.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage onboarding and HR administration, including contracts, compliance, and employee records
• Coordinate large-scale recruitment and induction processes for new store openings
• Support payroll data handovers and maintain HR trackers and templates
• Monitor training completion, probation reviews, and appraisals
• Support employee engagement and communication across multiple teams
• Assist in developing and implementing new systems and processes as the group scales
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to senior operations and HR leadership
About You
• Currently working in hospitality or retail management and looking to transition into HR
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing administrative processes
• Passionate about people, culture, and team development
• Interested or currently studying towards a CIPD qualification
• Proactive, reliable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growing business
