We are looking for a new DevOps Engineer to join our Technology Competence Center team in our Center of Excellence in Argentina .
You will join the Regional Digital Solutions Delivery team within MetLife's LATAM Technology organization, based in our Argentina Center of Excellence. This team is responsible for delivering and supporting critical digital solutions that enable MetLife's operations across Latin America, including vendor payment systems, expense management, and HR onboarding platforms. We are a collaborative, agile team that partners directly with business stakeholders to transform how MetLife serves its vendors and employees across the region.
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that power MetLife's digital transformation across 7 Latin American countries. This is an exciting opportunity to modernize our infrastructure practices, implement Infrastructure as Code, and ensure 99.9% availability for applications serving 15,000+ vendors. You'll drive automation initiatives that reduce deployment time by 80% and eliminate manual configuration errors.
Success in this role requires strong cloud expertise and a security-first mindset. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for managing Azure Kubernetes clusters and implementing automated deployment pipelines. You'll collaborate closely with development teams, security architects, and infrastructure specialists in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.
What you will do in this role…
- Lead the design and implementation of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, managing containerized applications serving thousands of daily users
- Create Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/ARM templates to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments across DEV, QA, and PROD environments
- Oversee CI/CD pipeline development in Azure DevOps, implementing automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates
- Manage cloud resource optimization, achieving 30% cost reduction through right-sizing and automated scaling policies
- Develop comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategies using Application Insights and Log Analytics to maintain 99.9% uptime
- Coordinate vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts, reducing security exposure from 30+ days to 7-day resolution
- Microsoft Azure services to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications
- Kubernetes orchestration to manage containerized applications, implement scaling policies, and ensure high availability
- Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms to build automated deployment pipelines and manage release processes
- PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting to automate routine tasks and create deployment scripts
- Networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPN) to configure secure cloud connectivity
- Fluent Spanish and professional English to collaborate with regional teams and document infrastructure designs
- Suggested 3+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE roles in cloud environments
- Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools to manage infrastructure versioning and implement GitOps practices
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or AZ-500) demonstrating cloud expertise
- Service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) to implement advanced traffic management and security policies
- APM tools (AppDynamics, New Relic, Dynatrace) to perform deep application performance analysis
- Security and compliance frameworks (SOC2, PCI-DSS) to ensure infrastructure meets regulatory requirements
