R&D - Full-Stack Engineer/ Project Technical Lead

EXUS AI Labs, the R&D department of EXUS, is where we design and develop robust and trustworthy AI solutions that allow us to leverage the untapped potential of big data analytics across multiple verticals. For more than 25 years, EXUS has gained substantial experience in managing research activities, from the ideation to the realization phase, taking advantage of a highly professional and diverse team. Currently, EXUS AI Labs coordinates and participates in projects that have received funding under the H2020 Research and Innovation Programme, as well as national funding schemes such as Innovate UK. Our department is working on numerous large-scale Research and Innovation Projects in various sectors such as Security (Physical and Digital), Health, and Creativity with our core competence being around AI, data analytics, real-time systems engineering, complex event processing, and large-scale cloud implementations.

The Role:

As a full-stack engineer, you will join a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Data Scientists, and innovation management Experts who excel in driving innovation in software engineering, A.I., and data analytics, to foster advances in key sectors such as banking, security, health, finance, creativity, and lifelong learning. You will participate in innovative research projects that improve the quality of people's lives and address new technological societal challenges. You will create back-end solutions that increase applications' efficiency and performance and front-end UIs that improve end users' experience. 

Main duties 

Project's technical coordination: 

Project's Design, Testing & Implementation: 

1. Back-end:

• Transforming user requirements to system specifications 
• Designing the architecture of applications 
• Developing reusable and scalable services

2. Front-end:

• Identifying web-based user interactions 

• Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code 

• Developing and implementing user interface components 

• Building reusable components and front-end libraries 
  

3. Testing and improving software's functionality and performance 

4. Documenting application changes and developing updates 

5. Providing solutions to any technical-related issue during a project's lifecycle 

Required Skills 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, (MSc studies will be highly appreciated) 
• At least 3 years of working experience in full-stack web development 

• Solid experience as a Software Engineer in back-end technologies: 

• Solid experience as a Software Engineer in front-end technologies: 

• Great familiarity in: 

General skills  

• Excellent knowledge of English language (both verbal & written) 
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking 
• Team player, self-motivated, constantly seeking new knowledge 

Nice to have skills 

• Experience with CSS preprocessors (i.e., Sass, LESS, etc.) 

• Experience in design tools (i.e., Zeplin, Figma, etc.) 

• Experience in technologies such as Webpack, Next, Redux, styled-components, or similar 

• Ability to implement Responsive Web Design principles, utilizing mobile-first design 

• Experience in research and innovation projects will be appreciated
