Come aboard as we push forward in our mission to create intelligent machines that pave the way for a cleaner, healthier, and fairer world! With our rapid growth, we’re constantly looking for people who share our vision – from ambitious new talent to seasoned professionals. We offer a diverse, full-time role packed with daily technical challenges, plenty of opportunities to develop your skills, and loads of perspective.

About Dot Robot

Dot Robot is on a mission! We apply our state-of-art automation and control technology to solve tough global challenges around sustainable mobility and the energy transition.

We develop and build electric drivetrains – drive controllers, motors, energy management – for robots, electric vehicles and machines. By integrating our electrical engineering, mechatronics, control and embedded software skills, we have put a range of fantastic machines in motion in the last couple of years.

Our drivetrains are increasingly intelligent. We are accelerating the integration of AI - by developing both the software and the supporting hardware - to increase the efficiency, robustness and performance of our machines.

About the role

We’re looking for a full-time (100% or 80%) Data & AI engineer to join our growing software & data team; the driving force behind our DotSentra platform. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement data-driven solutions that make our intelligent vehicle and machine control systems smarter every day.

Your work will span the full data lifecycle: from data engineering and management to machine learning model development and deployment in production environments. You’ll work on applications such as predictive maintenance, sensor data processing, and real-time control algorithms, collaborating closely with embedded software engineers, control engineers, and cloud specialists.

With your expertise in both software engineering and data science, you will be building the backbone of our intelligent automation systems; making sure our clients’ machines are not just connected, but truly intelligent.

Your responsibilities would include:

• Designing and implementing robust data pipelines for real-time and batch processing

• Applying machine learning algorithms to optimize vehicle and machine performance

• Building APIs and integration layers for data-driven control applications

• Working with cross-functional teams to embed AI into control systems for robotics and electric vehicles

• Managing and securing data in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments (Azure, AWS, local)

We offer

We’re an engineering-driven team with great ambition. That means interesting work, and just as well, ample opportunity to relax, think, and reflect. After-hour drinks are not reserved for Fridays only, and our team outings are legendary (at least, that’s what we’d like to think). We’re a Team with a capital “T”, which means in our case:

• A closely-knit group of talented men and women.

• Great opportunities to show and grow your technical and professional skills.

• All the support to be yourself.

• A competitive salary, tailored to your experience.

• Complimentary lunch for all – you can’t innovate on an empty stomach!

• A bonus system which ensures everyone gets to benefit from hitting commercial success.

You are

An enthusiastic Data & AI Engineer with a knack for turning data into actionable intelligence. You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or an equivalent field, ór you have gained proficiency through practical experience.

We expect you to bring:

• Solid skills in Python, (Postgre)SQL, and Shell Scripting

• Experience with data science and machine learning frameworks (e.g. Pandas, TensorFlow)

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments

• Experience with building and consuming APIs (FastAPI/REST) and messaging protocols like MQTT

• The ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and communicate fluently in English (Dutch is a plus)

A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience is preferred, but we welcome passionate engineers with strong skills who are eager to grow into the role.
