UI/UX Designer – AI-Powered Language Learning & Assessment Products

We are a bold, fast-moving innovation team building the next generation of AI-powered English language learning and assessment products . Our mission is to reimagine how people learn, practise, and prove their English skills.

We are seeking a creative and forward-thinking UI/UX Designer to help us shape the way millions of learners interact with learning and testing tools. You’ll work on cutting-edge prototypes that use large language models, speech analytics, adaptive testing, and conversational agents , all designed to deliver high-quality, human-centred learning experiences.

Whether it’s helping a learner improve their spoken fluency with real-time AI feedback, or guiding a teacher through a dashboard that visualises learner progress - your designs will make complex technology feel simple, personal, and powerful.

What You’ll Do

Design elegant, accessible, and engaging interfaces for a range of AI-powered learning and testing tools.

Create Prototypes, Mockups, And Interaction Flows For

  • Conversational AI experiences (e.g. voice-based speaking practice).
  • Smart test creation tools (e.g. for teachers to generate and customise test content).
  • Interactive score reports that make test feedback meaningful and actionable.

Collaborate closely with a very small team of PMs, engineers and designers to define intelligent user interactions , ensure alignment between UX and AI behaviours, and rapidly iterate on ideas.

Conduct user research, usability testing, and hypothesis-driven design sprints to validate assumptions - especially around how learners and teachers interact with AI tools.

Contribute to our emerging AI design language : patterns, principles, and components that make human-AI interaction transparent, trustworthy, and helpful.

Who You Are

A UX/UI designer with 3+ years’ experience, ideally in edtech, assessment, SaaS, or innovation teams.

You’re excited about working in early-stage prototyping environments, where ambiguity is high but so is the potential for impact.

You understand how to design for AI behaviours and outputs , including:

  • Dynamic content (e.g. AI-generated text or feedback).
  • Voice or speech input/output.
  • Adaptive or probabilistic systems.

You care deeply about learner experience , and can think across educational user types: students, teachers, institutional admins.

You are fluent in tools like Figma, Miro, and InVision. Bonus if you’ve worked with conversational design tools, speech interfaces, or data visualisation libraries.

You are also deeply interested in AI and use LLMs and the like regularly.

You are curious, analytical, and collaborative - able to balance creative risk-taking with thoughtful iteration.

Bonus Points For

Experience designing for language learning, assessment, or other educational products.

Understanding of language learning and testing terms (e.g. CEFR, GSE, feedback, formative vs summative testing).

Experience working with voice UIs, synthetic speech tools (e.g. ElevenLabs), or avatar-based interactions.

Vibe-coding for rapid prototyping experience.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a very small but very high-impact team experimenting with AI-driven language learning and testing experiences that challenge the status quo. We test ideas quickly, listen to our users, and build tools that help people unlock real-world opportunities through language.
