You will be instrumental in finding the write approach for our new distributed system from the conceptualisation, technology and strategies exploration to implementation and deployment.

Our current poison is PHP, but we use Python or C as well when and where it’s needed. As for the infrastructure we run on a state of the art hybrid cloud.

You will play a key role in the end-to-end development of a new sensor application, working closely with our engineering and product teams. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems, with a strong focus on performance and big data handling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Challenge the status-quo of existing systems, discover the best approach for building fast growing big-data backend systems
• Participate in designing and proving the base concept for the system
• Collaborate with mobile and hardware teams to ensure the best end-to-end solution possible
• Bring the spark of innovation to write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
• Get-Stuff-Done quick with high quality
• Front-End or Platform experience is considered a high plus
• Eating our own dog-food: deploy and use the system to understand its limitations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong professional experience in PHP development, with deep expertise in Symfony.
• Experience working with large datasets or Big Data applications.
• Knowing the benefit of using monolith vs microservices architecture
• Understanding of systems end-to-end
• Ability of working with synchronous(e.g. REST, gRPC) and asynchronous communication mechanisms (queues like RabbitMQ)
• Enjoy the adrenaline of a fast-paced professional, environment
• Knows that code complexity translates into burnt money and slow systems.

Nice to Have:

• Passion for gadget, home automation ecosystems s or industrial grade systems
• Familiarity with IoT standards and efficient communication protocols and real-time data processing.
