Cultural Souq is a UAE-based cultural and traditional eCommerce marketplace that connects artisans, creators, and local vendors with customers who value authenticity, culture, and sustainability.

Our platform features categories like cultural apparel & textiles, home décor, culinary products, handicrafts, collectables & crafts, Jewellery, Health & wellness, and eco-friendly items — blending modern digital experiences with the richness of cultural heritage.

We’ve built our MVP and are now looking for a technical co-founder to help us take the platform to the next stage — refining, scaling, and innovating the tech side of our cultural commerce vision.

Location: UAE (Hybrid/Remote options possible)

Stage: MVP built & ready for next phase

Equity: To be discussed (based on contribution, typically 05–25%)

As the Technical Co-Founder, you will:

• Lead all technical development and architecture of the platform.
• Oversee backend, frontend, and integrations (e.g., payments, vendor dashboards, product management, analytics, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with the founder (UI/UX & product side) to enhance the user experience and platform scalability.
• Build, manage, or guide a small engineering team as the startup grows.
• Advise on technology strategy, hosting, scalability, and possible integration with AI and personalization engines.
• Help prepare technical documentation and contribute to investor or accelerator applications.

• A developer or technical lead passionate about building meaningful products.
• Proficient in full-stack development (preferred stack: React / Next.js, Node.js, Firebase, or AWS).
• Familiar with eCommerce technologies, API integrations, and scalable infrastructure.
• Entrepreneurial mindset — not just coding, but thinking about impact, growth, and user experience.
• Interested in culture, sustainability, or creative commerce (a big plus).
• Willing to own and grow the technical side of a marketplace that can expand globally.

You’ll be partnering directly with the Founder, based in the UAE, with experience building digital products.
