We are seeking a highly motivated Signal Processing Engineer to join our Research and Development team, continuing and strengthening our world-class product development. If you have an interest in Signal Processing and in particular Acoustic Signal Processing in Echo Sounders, Sonars and Underwater Communication – this role is for you.
At Marine Life Technologies within Kongsberg Discovery, you will have the opportunity to challenge your technical thinking and analytical skills through close cross disciplinary collaboration.
Together with a strong team of engineers you will develop solutions, features and technology for marine life products contributing to sustainable fishery, underwater situation awareness, safe sea voyage and much more.

What You Will Be Doing
- You will have a key role in developing Signal Processing solutions for new products and for further development of established products
- Work closely with product managers, software teams, engineering disciplines and other stakeholders
- Perform algorithm code development, testing and verification
- Become deeply familiar with existing implementations and propose improvements
- Support software development and testing
- Conduct signal processing pre-studies
- Lead and co-ordinate reviews, clarifying signal processing requirements
- Technical degree from a University/University college within Mathematics, Statistics, Signal Processing, Cybernetics or similar
- Experience with underwater acoustics is advantageous
- Knowledge of analog and digital signal processing
- Familiarity with and interest in digital communication techniques
- Familiarity with control theory (in particular Kalman filter)
- Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Matlab, Simulink, Python, Julia, C++ or C#
- Experience with one or more of the following documentation tools: Word with Math Type, LaTeX or MathCad
