The IT Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, software, and networks. The role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations, timely troubleshooting, and implementation of IT best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Diagnose and resolve system, printer, or network connectivity problems in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, servers, and peripheral equipment.
- Assist users with troubleshooting Microsoft Office, email, and other business applications.
- Monitor network performance, ensuring availability and security.
- Support setup and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Active Directory or related systems.
- Coordinate with vendors or external service providers for maintenance and support.
- Perform routine system maintenance, backups, and data recovery procedures.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security protocols, and data protection standards.
- Maintain an updated inventory of IT assets, licenses, and equipment.
- Assist in upgrading systems and implementing new technologies.
- Provide user orientation and training on IT tools and systems.
- Maintain documentation for troubleshooting guides and user manuals.
- Deliver timely and professional IT support to enhance user satisfaction.
Here's what you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Min 5 years of experience in IT support or system administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS environments, MS Office, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiar with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN configuration.
- Experience with IT ticketing systems and remote desktop tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are an advantage.
