OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dynamic Project / Program Manager with hands-on experience in the payments industry to lead high-impact projects across multiple domains, cards, digital payments, open finance, and infrastructure modernisation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and stakeholder management to drive delivery across complex, multi-party initiatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end project/program delivery across strategic payment initiatives, ensuring alignment with Mercury’s business goals.
  • Manage the project lifecycle from scope definition and planning to execution, tracking, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Operations) and external partners.
  • Track project/program milestones, budgets, dependencies, and risks while ensuring timely resolution and transparent communication.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project/program documentation, dashboards, and governance reports.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence across all project/program touchpoints.
  • Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement in delivery frameworks.
  • Lead executive reporting and presentation of key project/program metrics, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Support leadership in decision-making through data-driven insights and progress summaries.



REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Management or a related field.
  • 5–6 years of experience in Project/Program Management within the payments, fintech, or banking sector.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional teams and complex payment infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, card issuing/acquiring, national switches, QR, or A2A payments.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Asana, MS Project, or similar).
  • Excellent communication & articulation (written & spoken), stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • PMP / Prince2 / Agile certification is a plus.
