About the business area:
ADCB Treasury offers a diverse range of conventional and Islamic banking solutions and is responsible for the Group’s funding, investments, and centralized risk management activities. It manages the Bank’s borrowings, issuance of debt securities, and use of derivatives to mitigate financial risk, while investing in a range of instruments, including green bonds, short-term placements, and corporate and sovereign debt securities.
We are actively seeking an ambitious professional to join our Treasury banking team at ADCB to work alongside passionate colleagues who share your ambition to redefine excellence in UAE banking.
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
- Strategy and Plans: In conjunction with, and as required by the Chief Officer of the Group, contribute to the formulation, implementation and delivery of the Group’s strategy in line with the ADCB’s vision, mission, values and priorities.
- Translate the strategy into operational business plans for the short, medium and long term within the department(s) and ensure that performance is monitored, reported and delivered and necessary actions are taken to achieve the strategy and plans.
- Portfolio Management: Establish and lead the strategic direction of ADCB’s Digital Assets portfolio, defining a clear vision, objectives, and governance framework that integrates innovation, regulatory compliance, and customer-centricity.
- Own the end-to-end portfolio roadmap and business cases, setting structured stage-gates and oversight mechanisms to ensure disciplined execution, transparent prioritization, and alignment with ADCB’s enterprise strategy and risk appetite.
- Drive execution through a milestone-based implementation plan, leveraging advanced analytics, adaptive resource management, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize delivery, monitor performance, and continuously refine portfolio initiatives.
- Ensure full regulatory adherence across all virtual asset activities including custody, trading, issuance, and advisory by embedding compliance controls, risk mitigation strategies, and reporting protocols that meet UAE and International Standards (e.g. VARA, SCA, CBUAE).
- Champion innovation and client experience, integrating emerging technologies and market insights to deliver scalable, secure, and value-driven digital asset solutions.
- Regulatory Engagement and Compliance: Oversee regulatory engagement for all digital asset activities, managing communications and submissions to regulators such as CBUAE, SCA, and VARA.
- Ensure the Digital Asset program operates within all legal and compliance frameworks by monitoring evolving regulations, securing necessary licenses/approvals, and embedding regulatory requirements into ADCB’s digital asset policies and procedures
- Cross-Functional Program Leadership: Lead cross-functional steering committees and working groups with stakeholders from Technology, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations.
- Drive coordinated execution by setting priorities, facilitating information flow, and removing obstacles so that all departments work in agreement to deliver digital asset projects on time and within scope.
- Technology and Vendor Management: Oversee the selection and management of external technology partners for digital assets (e.g. custody solutions, block chain platforms, wallet providers, analytics and compliance tools).
- Negotiate vendor agreements, oversee vendor performance against service levels, and ensure effective integration of external solutions with ADCB’s systems while maintaining high security and service quality standards.
- Risk Management: Direct the design and execution of ADCB’s digital asset risk management framework by embedding governance compliance and operational controls across the lifecycle and ensuring regulatory alignment with CBUAE, SCA and VARA while partnering with Risk and Finance to optimize liquidity capital and technology resilience and championing a proactive risk culture that balances innovation client protection and strategic objectives.
- Client Relationship and Partnership Model: Drive ADCB’s fiduciary responsibility by ensuring full ownership and stewardship of client relationships across all digital asset offerings, regardless of third-party involvement.
- Lead the development and execution of a partnership-led delivery model that strategically leverages external platforms and expertise to accelerate market entry, optimize capital and operational expenditure, and scale digital asset capabilities.
- Uphold trust, transparency, and long-term value creation by embedding client-centric principles and regulatory accountability into all partner engagements and service models.
- Executive Reporting and Stakeholder Communication: Lead the preparation and delivery of strategic updates, performance reports, and executive briefings for senior management, governance committees, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Communicate program milestones, risks, and critical decisions with clarity and precision, using data-driven insights to influence outcomes and support enterprise-level decision-making.
- Represent the Digital Assets program in high-level forums, ensuring alignment with ADCB’s strategic priorities and fostering transparency, accountability, and executive confidence in program delivery.
- Leadership: Manage employees and teams by overseeing their performance management, recruitment, learning and development to ensure high levels of engagement, and competence, a motivated work environment and to maximize employee contribution to business performance.
- Change Management: Drive the management of change in the business area through direct reports and teams by providing inputs for, and partaking in change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment.
- Financial: Recommend and manage the budget for the business area and monitor financial performance so that the business is aware of anticipated costs and revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance and improvement opportunities are identified and addressed to ensure the budget is managed in line with requirements.
- Lead the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting process for the Digital Assets ensuring financial plans support strategic objectives and regulatory commitments while optimizing resource allocation across internal teams and external partnerships to maximize value and delivery efficiency.
- Provide governance over hiring plans, vendor spending, and programme expenditure against approved budgets by embedding proactive monitoring and variance analysis and deliver timely financial reporting and insights to senior stakeholders to enable informed decisions and maintain cost discipline and execution momentum.
The ideal candidate should have the following experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in Financial Services or Digital Assets.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent, Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
- Knowledge of Strategic Leadership, Block chain Strategy, Regulatory Engagement (CBUAE, SCA, VARA), Vendor Management, Data Analysis, Policy Development, Executive Stakeholder and Project Management.
- Arabic language (preferred), Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
