PHP Developer | Laravel & AWS | Newcastle | £50K - £60K
Exciting opportunity to join an award-winning SaaS platform revolutionising ecommerce optimisation
I'm working with a rapidly growing technology company in Newcastle that's making waves in the ecommerce space. They've built an innovative platform that helps online retailers maximise their product visibility and sales through intelligent feed optimisation and data-driven insights.
The Role
They're seeking a PHP Developer to join their tight-knit, office-based development team. This is a high-impact position where you'll have genuine ownership over architecture decisions, backend services, and full-stack development across their modern Laravel platform.
You'll be working with the TALL stack (Tailwind, Alpine, Laravel, Livewire) alongside Docker, Redis, and AWS, tackling complex integration challenges and helping shape technical best practices as the platform scales.
This isn't a role where you'll be lost in a huge team - you'll have real visibility, autonomy, and the chance to make meaningful contributions across the entire stack.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing scalable backend services within a modern Laravel environment
- Taking ownership of service-layer architecture and third-party integrations
- Optimising queue-based workflows and asynchronous processing
- Working with Docker containerisation and maintaining efficient dev environments
- Collaborating on CI/CD pipeline improvements and deployment automation
- Contributing to frontend development with Livewire and TailwindCSS
- Mentoring team members and driving code quality standards
What They're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience with PHP 8.0+ and Laravel 10+
- Solid MySQL database design and optimisation skills
- Experience with Redis, Docker, and containerised environments
- Practical knowledge of background job processing and queue management
- Comfortable with Git workflows, peer reviews, and collaborative development
- Clear communicator who can work independently while contributing to technical strategy
What's On Offer
💰 £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
🏢 Company pension scheme
🏥 Medicash health scheme
This is a fantastic opportunity for a PHP developer who wants to step up, take ownership, and work on a product that's genuinely making a difference in the ecommerce world.
