About Presto
PRESTO is an electronic payment system used across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and Ottawa, providing convenient, seamless fare payment across 11 transit agencies. PRESTO is currently undergoing a major transformation initiative, upgrading systems and services to support new mobility partners and an expanding regional network over the next three years.
About The Role
We’re seeking a Project Manager/Leader (Intermediate) to support the planning, coordination, and execution of PRESTO Security and Technology Projects. The successful candidate will work closely with senior project managers and multiple stakeholders to ensure all project requirements, schedules, and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned tasks to support the delivery of PRESTO Security and Infrastructure Projects.
- Assist Senior Project Managers through all stages — from definition, procurement, and implementation to transition.
- Maintain and track project documentation, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate project activities across teams, ensuring alignment with technical and quality standards.
- Communicate plans, actions, risks, and progress updates to key stakeholders.
- Identify and help resolve project-related issues to ensure continuous progress.
- Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with internal and external partners.
- Prepare status and progress reports by analyzing project data and milestones.
- Support administrative functions for the Project Management Office (PMO) and assist in day-to-day coordination activities.
- 5+ years of project coordination or management experience, ideally in IT infrastructure or security-related projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage expectations and maintain alignment across teams.
- Proven organizational and planning abilities—comfortable managing multiple dependencies, timelines, and deliverables.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience in cross-functional settings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, MS Project).
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Previous public sector experience or familiarity with government project frameworks.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification.
