Network Engineer
A global proprietary trading firm is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join their high-performance tech team. This role focuses on building and maintaining a robust, low-latency network infrastructure that supports real-time trading operations. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll take ownership of a global network that powers real-time trading. You’ll be expected to manage and improve network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability across systems. You should be comfortable working with core networking concepts, automating tasks, and solving problems that require a deeper understanding of how data moves across networks. You’ll also work closely with telecom providers, support data center operations, and help maintain accurate time synchronization across systems. Experience with specialized hardware used in low-latency environments is a plus.
Requirements
A degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, along with at least 4 years’ experience in network engineering within the financial sector. You would have solid hands-on experience with core networking technologies including layer 2/3 protocols, BGP, OSPF, multicast (IGMP, PIM), and QoS. You should be experienced with scripting and automation and have a solid understanding of TCP/IP. Familiarity with time synchronization concepts, data center operations, and telecom circuit implementation is important.
