We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join a fully remote, cross-functional team focused on delivering high-performance, scalable applications. In this role, you will design and implement backend services, APIs, and data solutions that impact millions of users across multiple countries. You will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA specialists to deliver secure, maintainable, and efficient systems. Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, ensuring high performance and scalability
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver new features and enhancements across the platform
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment
  • Optimize system performance, manage high-volume transactions, and ensure reliability under load
  • Advocate for best practices in code quality, security, maintainability, and software architecture
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while continuously improving processes and systems
  • Contribute to database design, query optimization, and data integrity for PostgreSQL and other relational databases


Requirements

  • Strong experience with backend development using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, including query optimization, migrations, and data modeling (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
  • Experience designing scalable systems for high-traffic environments and handling concurrency, idempotency, and performance optimization
  • Skilled in API development, including security practices, JWT authentication, and queue-based architectures
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, asynchronous environment and collaborate with distributed teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused, business-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bonus: experience with SaaS products, serverless architecture, or FinTech applications
