One of the UK's most successful and rapidly scaling fintech companies are seeking to hire their first Information Security Analyst. On a clear trajectory to surpass 500 employees, they are entering a new stage of maturity. As part of this strategic growth, they are now building a dedicated, best-in-class cybersecurity function from the ground up.
This is a rare opportunity to be one of the first hires into this new team. You won't just be joining a function; you'll be helping to build it.
The Role: A Foundational Opportunity
This is more than a standard analyst position. As a founding member of the cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's security framework, processes, and culture. You will have a unique opportunity to influence the direction of the program and establish best practices in a "greenfield" environment. Your priorities will include:
- Establish the Cyber Risk Program: Take the lead in developing and implementing the Cyber Risk Register, defining the risk assessment methodology, and creating clear reporting for senior leadership.
- Build the Security Framework: Play an instrumental role in shaping the security policy framework that will protect the business as it continues to scale.
- Define Compliance Processes: Create and embed the processes required to manage compliance obligations (PCI-DSS, FCA), ensuring the business is prepared for future audits.
- Champion Security Culture: Lay the groundwork for a strong, security-first culture by developing the first wave of targeted training and awareness initiatives.
- Shape Incident Response: Help define the initial procedures for incident tracking and documentation, creating a resilient foundation for the company's response capabilities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role requires a proactive and ambitious professional who is excited by the prospect of building something new. We are looking for:
- At least three years of experience in a cyber risk, information security, or related role.
- A strong, practical understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF) that you can adapt to a growing business.
- A self-starter mentality, with the ability to work independently, define processes, and drive initiatives forward in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, essential for building relationships across a fast-growing organisation.
- A pragmatic and business-focused approach to security and risk management.
Desirable skills include:
- Relevant professional certifications (CRISC, CISM, CISSP).
- Experience with GRC platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles (Azure, AWS).
What's on Offer
My client's success allows them to invest heavily in their employees. They offer a highly competitive package designed to attract and retain top talent:
- A competitive salary, performance-related bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
- An unparalleled opportunity for career growth and influence as a key part of the security function from its inception.
- Generous annual leave starting at 25 days (plus public holidays), increasing with service.
- Private medical insurance for you and your family.
- A strong company pension contribution.
- The stability of a well-funded, profitable business combined with the excitement of a high-growth environment.
